CFA YOUTH CREW

Students learn the foundations of fire preparedness and prevention which includes understanding environmental patterns and identifying ways to preserve and protect the environment from potential fire threats. This program runs for two years and participates gain a Certificate 2 in Public Safety (Firefighting Operations), Level 2 First Aid, fire awareness, fire preparedness and firefighting skills.

Students engage in this valuable course along with Tallangatta and Mt Beauty Secondary College creating connections that have proven to develop into long lasting friendships with a feeling of connectedness and belonging. Over the two years students work closely with CFA volunteers, SES, Ambulance Victoria and DWELP volunteers which offers students an insight into various employment and volunteer pathways.

The CFA Youth Crew program was formed in 1997 with 21 students aged from 15-17years from Corryong, Tallangatta and Mount Beauty Secondary Colleges and members of the Country Fire Authority.

Eligible students will be notified when applications are open for this program.
