Koorie Performance

On Wednesday afternoon, 128 students from the College and the Kindergarten, attended a performance by Dion Drummond, an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander from Far-North Queensland.
Throughout the hour-long performance, students heard stories from Dion about his background, were taught a variety of traditional dances, and shown some traditional artefacts.
The afternoon was a huge success with everyone leaving the Hub with giant smiles on their faces. The Corryong College Mob was ‘deadly’, especially our brave teaching staff who showed off their ‘funky chicken’ dance moves.
A special thank you to the Year 9 and 10’s who helped set up the PA and to Matthew Harrison, Mikayla Harrison and Zeth Starr for thanking Dion on behalf of the college.
