Our Curriculum at Corryong College
Corryong College encourages its students to strive
for excellence in all of their endeavours. To achieve this, the school provides
sequential teaching and learning programs that deliver a comprehensive, broadly
based and culturally inclusive curricula.
Corryong College provides a variety of programs
that address the specific needs of students in relation to gender, special
learning needs, disabilities and impairments, giftedness and students from
language backgrounds other than English.
In order for staff to facilitate curriculum
planning and implementation, scope and sequence documents, backward design
maps, assessment criteria, record keeping documentation, handbooks and
proformas are used.
The curriculum, F – Year 10 is based on the
Victorian Curriculum and Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA)
guidelines in Years 11 and 12. Students in Year 10 have the opportunity for
advancement into some VCE and VET classes. This will be considered on an
individual basis.
The timetable is structured on a weekly basis.
Timetable is based on 6 blocks where each block occurs 5 times a week. Each day
has 6 periods, and each period is 50 minutes. Each core subject runs for the
whole year and electives are rotated each term.
