The College's Motto "NOS AD VITAM PARAT" (it prepares us for life) acts as an appropriate reminder to many activities that we undertake at Corryong Secondary College. The Colleges curriculum has been developed to provide; for rural students, for equal access for girls and boys, for students with academic and practical interests and for adults continuing with, or returning to education.
The college is equipped with excellent facilities for student use. These include a modern computer network that features fibre optic connection between sites. Furniture is continually being upgraded, as are the school grounds. The college has a pine plantation in the Nariel Valley and an arboretum in Strzelecki Way. It controls the former Colac Colac Primary School site adjacent to the local walking trail.
Corryong College is an isolated and remote P-12 school that serves farm and town communities in the Upper Murray District of North-East Victoria. Corryong is 124 kilometres east of the rural city of Wodonga. Corryong is located twelve kilometres from the NSW border and draws its students from many valleys in the surrounding Victorian and NSW countryside.
In April 2002 Corryong Consolidated School and Corryong Secondary College merged to become Corryong College, a P – 12 school. The recommendation to become a P-12 school followed twelve months of investigation by the Local Proposal Committee (LPC) and School Councils and was made after community and staff consultation. The formal proposal to become a P-12 school was sent to the DE&T in November of 2001, was duly accepted and resulted in the formation of the new school of Corryong College. The basis on which the committee founded its recommendations was to provide the best possible educational opportunities for young people in the Corryong District.
